Her stories have appeared in Tin House, American Short Fiction, The Iowa Review, Gulf Coast, TriQuarterly, SmokeLong Quarterly, and elsewhere. Her work has received fellowships from The Elizabeth George Foundation, Yaddo, The Vermont Studio Center, The Speculative Literature Foundation, Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing and scholarships from the Bread Loaf and Sewanee Writers’ Conferences. Joy holds an MFA from The New School and is the founder of the virtual literary arts organization Pioneer Valley Writers’ Workshop.
