DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nJoin us for February’s Poetry Night at Hale! The evening will begin with an open mic and end with a set by a featured poet.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nFebruary’s featured poet is Art Collins. Whether you choose to share your own poetry or simply appreciate the work of others, this is sure to be an exciting night of spoken word. Poetry Nights at Hale are ideal for ages 16+ but younger poets are welcome if they’re accompanied by parents or guardians. Light refreshments will be available. Parking and the event are at Hale’s Trading Post.\nPoetry Nights at Hale and other programs coordinated by Hale’s artist-in-residence are made possible by the generosity of The Margaret Stewart Lindsay Foundation.\n\nBoston poet Art Collins believes there is extraordinary power in words and considers his poetry to be socially conscious as well as entertaining. He hopes his brand of poetry will motivate action, provoke thought, and stimulate the mind of the listener. Art is co-host of the Lizard Lounge Poetry Slam venue and was a member of the 2008, 2010, and 2016–2018 Lizard Lounge National Poetry Slam Teams. An educator in Boston Public Schools, he continues to perform his unique style of poetry and aspires to reach a global audience.\n\n\n\n
