DESCRIPTION:In person at Brookline Booksmith! Join us for an evening of poetry with Niki Tulk, Joshua Nguyen, Chen Chen, & Tamiko Beyer.\nThis event is part of Third Thursdays Poetry, a monthly reading series at Brookline Booksmith\nThird Thursdays Poetry\nChen Chen’s second book, Your Emergency Contact Has Experienced an Emergency, is forthcoming from BOA Editions in September 2022. His debut, When I Grow Up I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities (BOA Editions, 2017), was longlisted for the National Book Award and won the Thom Gunn Award, among other honors. He has received two Pushcart Prizes and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and United States Artists. He is core poetry faculty for the low-residency MFA programs at New England College and Stonecoast.\nTamiko Beyer‘s books are the 2022 Lambda Literary Award winner Last Days, We Come Elemental, and Poetry as Spellcasting: Poems, essays, and prompts for manifesting liberation and reclaiming power (forthcoming from North Atlantic Books).\nJoshua Nguyen is the author of Come Clean (University of Wisconsin Press), winner of the 2021 Felix Pollak Prize in Poetry and winner of the 2022 Mississippi Institute of Arts & Letters Poetry Award. He is also the author of the chapbook American Lục Bát for My Mother (Bull City Press, 2021). He is a PhD student at The University of Mississippi, where he also received his MFA.\nNiki Tulk is an ex-pat Australian, and experimental theatre-maker, improviser, writer, poet and author of Performing the Wound: Practicing a Feminist Theatre of Becoming (Routledge, 2022). She currently lives with her family and rescue dog in the White Mountains, New Hampshire.\n
