The Chilmark Free Public Library strives to be central to the community’s year-round and seasonal needs by providing:

• A balanced, professionally-developed collection of materials that are primarily recreational and for all family enjoyment.
• Access to materials and information for personal learning and development of all age groups. The library will make every effort to serve the Chilmark School, providing materials and programs to support their studies.
• A common environment for people to meet and interact with others in the community and to participate in public discourse and community issues.
