SOUTH YARMOUTH, MA.
The South Yarmouth Library Association, which was formed in 1869 and established in the Agreement of Association dated April 4, 1908, is a volunteer non-profit organization with a simple mission: to promote and enhance the services of the South Yarmouth Library and to raise funds to provide materials and programs not covered in the library’s operating budget. It encourages gifts, including materials, endowments, bequests and other support and administers funds already left in trust. With this support, the South Yarmouth Library is able to provide programs such as literacy and musical programs, summer reading programs, story hours, the Sunday Author Series and Yarmouth Reads. In addition, the Association awards the Cecelia Siemen Scholarship in the Visual Arts, funds museum passes, public access computers, library furniture, craft supplies, Staff and Volunteer Appreciation events, and co-sponsors, with West Yarmouth Library Association, the annual Who-ville Express.
